Hello all!
Detox plans are currently in action after a busy and incredibly fun January. Having returned from our trip to the Woodford Folk Festival, Brisbane (top, top festival – too much fun) and a week of rehearsals in New Zealand, we were thrown straight back into the throng of Celtic Connections in Glasgow. What a great couple of weeks, individually taking in gigs at the SSE Hydro, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Mitchell Theatre and getting involved in many sessions and much late night debauchery – but now it’s time to look to the future.

Our appearance at WOMAD New Zealand and the Homeground Festival, Sydney will be filled with added excitement as we premiere a brand new cross-cultural collaboration. At the start of 2014, we were lucky enough to gather together with musicians from AUS & NZ to put together a new show which will form part of the 2014 Commonwealth celebrations. The BOOMERANG project is comprised of Breabach, Moana & the Tribe, Horomona Horo (NZ), Shellie Morris, Casey Donovan, Djakapurra Munyarryun, Tim Bishop (AUS). It’s going to be a massive celebration of Celtic, Aboriginal and Maori cultures, through the medium of language, music, and dance. Hope you can join us as we take this show back to Scotland in July.

We are very much looking forward to joining everyone at the Radio 2 Folk Awards this month which takes place in the Royal Albert Hall, London. You can tune in on radio 2 from 8pm on 19/02/14 or you can watch from the red button! We are totally delighted to be considered for a nomination and just want to wish everyone all the best of luck for this night.
